Sims 3 Help! Im kinda stuck?

Ok, so I downloaded a couple of worlds off of the Exchange, and I was currently in one called ISLE DREAMS. I was editing the town to add some townspeople, and when I tried to add a family (That came with a house) It kinda...froze I guess. Like it was loading, but the loading sign went away and it was just tinted. So then I went and opened the Cheat Code enterer (Ctr+Shft+C) and Ientered the Code testingcheatsenabled true which enables all of the cheat codes to be able to be entered. Then, when that gets done its as if It loaded fine, and is all good. Thats where the problem is. The family is on my finger pointer, but when I click on a lot for them to liveo n, nothing happens. Its as if I never clicked on it. Please help, and soon because I cant go back or anything! Please and thank you!
